Traveling to Walt Disney World…?
Are there any other discounts out there for Disney hotels/park tickets that are cheaper than AAA? Looking to go in May and stay in a moderate resort.
AAA does not save you very much, as you figured out. Contrary to popular belief Disney keeps the best deals and discounts for themselves. There are some discounts out there, but the best advice I can give is buyer beware. I know a few people that have gone the discount site route and they did not get what they thought. The few rooms they do release for discount sites are the ones that are the “less desireable” locations. You don’t get to pick which part of the resort you want to stay in, and they are for the most part either far away from all of the important stuff, or the views are terrible. Again, remember you get what you pay for.
I would suggest going in the off season if price is your only concern. No one will beat the deals you can get straight from the Mouse himself in the off season. Keep in mind the hours of the parks are a little shorter and some of the rides are under refurbishment, and some of the parades and attractions are not run as often in the off season. However I would suggest calling Disney direct and talking to a Cast Member. They are trained to give you the most bang for your buck.
