abc disney careers
everyone is giving me different advice on starting my acting career, i dont know which one to take? help?

I want to send my off my acting resume & headshot for disney channel shows, ABC family, & ABC. I asked theatre doc about this and he said that I dont have experience and should wait to send off my resume. But, i have been doing alot of class skits (original skits) that we write ourselves and get graded on in a class called Oral Communications & we sometimes do skits that the teacher makes us do. I’ve also done 2 church plays and have been the lead in both.

But, when i check out the Alan Baltes website, he says that it doesnt matter how your resume is, beginner or not because you never know what casting directors are looking for. And another lady on yahoo told me that it doesnt matter either, just send it off beacuse I have done somethings.

So what SHOULD i do? wait or send them off now? and see what happens

The plays are a start. However, I’m curious as to where/whom you’re going to send your resume/headshot to at those networks. Specific shows have specific casting directors, so you better know where and whom you have to send to. Also curious as to the general geographic area you are in. For example, if you live in Texas, the casting directors in LA are just simply NOT going to call you into audition. If you want to audition for LA casted projects, you better live close to LA. If you are NOT, then sending in those headshots is a waste of time and effort. Besides, most of the TV and Film casting breakdowns are only seen my agents and managers, so you wouldn’t even know what roles your sending in for.

And I don’t care what Alan Baltes website says. The simple fact in Hollywood is that you NEED experience and a decent resume, or you just won’t be seen for theatrical projects like ones you are hoping to get on. Commercials are a bit of a different story as there are so many of them cast, and the range of people needed is so much wider, that someone with little or no experience might still be seen if their look is ‘right’.
