What does this mean about the Getting the job.?
OK im 15 and i want to work at amc they said they werent hiring but if the manager likes me that he would call me for an interview. So i called today and the guy said that the manageris in an interview and he asked for my name and phone number and that he will give it to the manager after he is done. So does this mean that i will get a chance to interview and that there hiring or is he gonna look at it and throw it away. Is he onna call me after the interview for sure or no. BTW i live in florida and the place is downtown disney if that helps.
Getting a job is kind of liking finding a girlfriend. You may have to let a lot of employers (girls) know that you are available before one of them gives you a chance. Girls will decide within the first second or two if they want to give you a chance. Same with employers. But sometimes employers, like some girls, are just desperate and will give you a shot out of desperation. This is not a knock against you….just how it is.
So don’t put a lot of hope into getting that AMC job. If the Manager happens to need somebody, he or she may call you, may call someone else, which may or may not have anything to do with you personally. The Manager may find someone thru employers already working there, family, friends, etc..
The point is that you have to get your availability status out there to a lot of potential employers. Apply at a lot of places to up your odds of landing a job.
And get used to this, because that is how it is for most adults as well. The average adult job seeker has to send out something like 500 plus resumes before actually getting a job offer.
