How should I go about planning a vacation?
I’m planning a trip to Orlando, Florida. I’m trying to keep it as cheap as possible. (There are five people in my family.) Also, I want to go to as many places as possible, and we’ll be staying there six nights. So, should I try to get a package deal through Disney.com, or do you know of any sites that have really good package deals?
More Info: We’ll be taking a car, and we’re taking food with us. Would it be a better idea to take a motorhome? (They use a lot of gas.)
I’m assuming money is the big factor here:
consider off-season – check with disney to see if they have park tickets that are cheaper certain times of the year. Usually there are discounts in winter.
driving yourself is a good idea (renting a motorhome might be a good idea, since you can use it as the hotel.) Fuel prices are much less than last year. f you can find a KOA campsite nearby (they’re everywhere and only like 10.00 a night for hookups and showers, game room etc. varies site to site) – get a reservation early – not sure how far you are going – assuming you are closer to Florida than California – shopping for food and cooking in the motorhome will save big money.
You might try to get a discounted timeshare – in this economy there are great deals out there. – that would pay for future vacation options also. Be careful what the annual fees are – sometimes the annual fees are so high – it’s cheaper to just rent a hotel for the week.
