Are Disney “Platinum” edition DVDs in HD?
I’m looking to buy the Aladdin DVD and Amazon has the Platinum Edition 2 Disc DVD for sale, but is it in HD or at least High Quality? I’ve seen videos on Youtube of some of the songs and they are in beautiful HD so I can only assume it was an HD DVD rip? But is the Platinum edition means its in HD?
They can’t be officially defined as High Definition, but they are certainly a level up in quality compared to gold editions.
The main feature a platinum disk has is bonus music videos (Aladdin has a music video of “A Whole New World”) and also usually around half an hour of a “making of” documentary.
Unfortunately Aladdin is an exception to this bonus feature and does not have a “making of “documentary.
p.s. Diamond versions are officially defined as HD and have an extra blu-ray disk.
