Why Does Everyone Associate “Alice In Wonderland” With Drugs?

Seriously,
Why?

The movie “Alice In Wonderland” by Walt Disney was based off of the book, “Alice And The Looking Glass” Which was about a girl who falls asleep and creates here dream world and the story has NOTHING to do with drugs at all,(except for the fact that that caterpillar guy was totally getting high and the mushroom part)..But the movie and the book doesn’t have anything to do with drugs, and it that was the intension for the movie or the book eigther..
PEOPLE WHO SAY ALICE IN WONDERLAND ARE RUINED ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING DISNEY MOVIES OF ALL TIME FOR ME AND MILLIONS OF CHILDREN AND OTHERS..

seriously people..

EVERYTHING MADE IN THE 60′s DOESN’T HAAVE TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH DRUGS BECAUSE THAT WAS NOT EVEN THE INTENTION OF THE MOVIE NORE THE BOOK SO PEOPLE NEED TO STOP SAYING THAT…

WHY?

Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgson) has long been suspected of extensive drug use (opiates, mostly), which would explain all the weirdness in his books. Thus, it has long been considered that one of the best ways to enjoy the stories was in some sort of altered state.

The author may have been mentally ill or he may have simply been wildly creative. He was sickly and frail most of his life and kept mostly to himself. That sort of “loner” existence always results in rumors, so who knows.

I don’t know anything about the movies, only the books, which I’ve always enjoyed. The rumors about Carroll are just that. You don’t have to accept them and you certainly don’t have to let them influence how you like the movies.

Not everything made in the 60s was associated with drugs, by the way. Make up your own mind about how you feel about things. You don’t have to accept the opinions, the attitudes or the input of anyone else.
