Disney Ant Farm Preview

Um, film question???????????????????????????????

I thought that when a show comes out, first their has to be a pilot. Like theirs a new disney channel show coming out, called Ant Farm, and they were showing the previews, and their was a lot going on, I mean that in the previews, their were clips from a few episodes. I thought the producers had to ilot it, then if it gets enough views, then they start filming, more episodes. So why do some shows have episodes filmed already, and a premire date, without a pilot? Can someone explain this to me?

Also, I want to know what extras be talkin about when they be on camera in the background. Like their mouths are moving, and you obvoisly cant hear them-I just want to know do they really be havin a conversation about something, or are they just moving their mouths faking one?

all show have a pilot- but not all are aired. The pilot is shown to the networks, and is often not shown on TV- when it is, nowadays, the pilot is the first episode (which is why, when you buy the dvds, the first episode is often just named “pilot” or the name of the series). after the network decides it likes the show, they film more episodes. The commercials etc. are made during the middle stages of this phase- which is why the commercials only have clips from the first two or three episodes. By the time the first episode airs, they’ve finished all but the last one or two.

and the extras? as someone who has been an extra in plays- they’re talking. it looks freakishly fake when you get a bunch of people who may or may not know how to act pretending to talk. It may be restrained or quiet, but they’re all talking for real.
