All I want to do is work as an animator/artist/illustrator, but HOW?
I’d prefer to work with Disney in the future, but I am so lost and confused. I am a senior in high school, and my guidance counselor just doesn’t understand. I’ve been looking at schools, and I always seem to think I’ve found a great school. But the majors, the classes…they just don’t seem right. I don’t want to just study art history or “the classics.” No painting or sculpting. Where can I go if I just want to do straight up character design or animation? Do I pursue a degree in fine Arts or what? And where can I find schools that offer that?? I am so confused and frustrated and feel like time is running out when it comes to this pesky college stuff.
You can create a free blog where you will showcase your best works just like my friend did who is a self-taught artist . By the time you seek for a job you will have a decent online portfolio to show and it will make you chances to get a good job or commissions as a freelance artist higher.
