Skip period… No birthcontrol ?
Hi. In 2012 I am going on a cruise and to disney ( yay! ) and im gonna have my period then ( boo! ) haha but ya. I would like to skip WITHOUT birthcontrol and I can’t use tampons or cups. Is there a shot? I got my first ever period in Febuary 2011. I have a tracker on my iPod. It’s always right somehow… Somehow my periods are regular not irregular. I only had it for about 7 months… Please help. Please 
Bear in mind that 2012 is a little while away yet, your cycles can change so there’s nothing to say that your period will without a doubt turn-up during your cruise – trackers like the one on your iPod can only work based on previous cycles after all, they can’t accurately predict future cycles.
Birth control isn’t a good option for this, you have two other options but these will not allow you to skip your period, instead these can delay your period;
1. Medroxyprogesterone known by the brand name Provera (there may be other brands, and this is not the same as the birth control shot Depo-Provera) from your doctor. Menstruation comes about due to the drop in progesterone that triggers off uterus lining shedding, what Medroxyprogesterone does is supplement that progesterone, so you take it during the days your period is due and it prevents that progesterone drop to stop your period, then when you stop taking the Medroxyprogesterone your progesterone drops to induce your period.
2. Lunaception, this requires more effort and there is no guarantee it would work, but you do have the time to attempt this if you want to try. Essentially this is where you coax your body into ovulating at a different time – ovulation controls when you menstruate – so you can coax your period to start at a different time too. Why can’t you use tampons or cups?
Obviously menstrual cups are preferable as you could go all day without needing to change or leaking, and can be worn overnight, with any flow, before your period, and while swimming.
