How would it be at Disney world in the beginning of December?

Okay, I need some advice/feedback from experienced Disney goers. My husband and I finally decided that we are going to go to Disney world from November 28th to December 10th 2011. How is Disney world in nov/dec especially how is the crowd levels? Does anyone thing they will extend the dining plan? We are hoping some We are going to stay at Pop century and want a king bed, how is Pop century? Also, how is the weather? We chose nov/december because it was cooler than summer months.
I just want to make sure that I do not regret the hotel and the time in which we went. Thank you so much everyone

My husband and I went to Disney last December 5-12th and stayed at the Pop Century resort.

As US Thanksgiving is November 25th, it may be a little busy the first day, but the thanksgiving holiday rush should be over, so I imagine they’re be low crowds.

When we went last year it was great. Longest line was maybe 30minutes (for the most popular rides). Many rides we walked straight on, or waited 10-20 minutes. For us the last 2 days were a little busy, but you’ll be gone by then. I would definitely go that time again.

The weather is nice. Was in t-shirts and shorts some days, sweaters and jeans another. It rained one day, but it happened to be the day we went to Florida mall. (There’s a public bus that goes right from the Disney Property to the mall- lynx 111).
Evenings were on the cooler side side, I typically wore jeans, thick sweater and sometimes a wind breaker. Much rather this than the hot summer, and we weren’t looking to do any water parks.

The Disney plan was AWESOME!! But restaurant reservations fill up fast! I think we booked our restaurants 3 months in advance… But I did see people do walk-ins, and most times they had no problem. What’s great is that you can eat at other nicer resorts. The one snack a day is a nice bonus, we thought it was only an apple or something small… but we found things in the the fudge shop were included, giant sundaes at our resort, it seemed like everything was considered a snack- you just have to ask. It was great! Definitely research what restaurants you want to go to. I swear I had some of the best meals of my life that week. Loved the Yak and Yeti at Animal Kingdom.

Not sure what you mean by extending the dining plan…

Pop Century is great for on a budget. Nice, clean, frequent buses to parks. (All 3 All Stars share the same buses). Our room had 2 doubles… not sure if they have King beds. I suggest e-mailing and asking. They’re very good at replying. While the other hotels looked nice, we couldn’t justify the price, as most of our time we spent in the park. We didn’t need a big fancy room to watch tv occasionally and sleep. We also got a preferred room (ground level, close to the building), it was nice having a short walk.

I also recommend getting a park hopper pass. It was nice to do multiple parks in one day.

What’s awesome about the time you’re going is all the Christmas decorations are up, and it’s beautiful! Get the bonus of the decorations without the crowds. Additionally there should be no major rides closures for repair (they do that in jan-feb).

I think you and your husband will have a great time. If you really want a king bed, I’d give disney an e-mail. I personally am very picky about crowds, bad weather, where I’m sleeping, and I would most definitely go the time your going to Pop Century.

It was seriously one of our best vacations, so glad we did it before kids. We’re expecting #1 in January, can’t wait to go back again one day!
