Is ANYBODY making traditional (quality) 2-D animation anymore?
It’s late. I’m tired. And I’m irked at the notion that nobody is making traditional, 2-D, quality animated films anymore. I just found out that Disney SHUT DOWN its 2-D studio…and Pixar doesn’t do 2-D, and Hayao Miyazaki is retiring…
Is it just me? Or does anybody else out there miss good old traditional fairy tale-type animated movies? It’s not like there aren’t any more fairy tales to do…animated movies don’t HAVE to be stupid and cartoony and angular-looking. I miss the good old days of Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast…
So…who wants to help me start an animation company? I don’t have any money, but I’ve got some story ideas. Am I serious? I dunno…I’d like to be. Maybe it’s useless; maybe nobody wants to see that kind of movie anymore…
Maybe I should just go to bed…
