Disney Family Fun Kid Wash

What kind of party games/ideas/decorations would you suggest for a kid who loves the car…?

No joke — our son is practically obsessed with car washes these days. We always do some type of a “theme” for his birthday (coming up in early September) and we’ve done the route of Elmo, construction, etc. Since he is sooooo into car washes, I thought it would be fun to try to work that into the theme this year, but feel at a loss for how to do it. I know there is always the Disney “Cars” type of thing to draw on — but he isn’t familiar w/ that movie yet.

What kind of creative ideas can you suggest? Short of hiring Duff from Ace of Cakes, I don’t know how we can keep the cake in line w/ that theme — and I’m at a loss in terms of decorations and games. There will probably be some other kids at our house, including classmates and family. I don’t want to spend a ton on his party — nor do I think we should (he’ll be 4).

I would drive my van into the back yard and buy tons of washable markers and let all the kids color it, this will take up a good amount of time for 4 year olds. I would then have a big car wash…….let them clean the car. You could buy new buckets and sponges (the buckets could also be like a goodie bag), you could even buy squirt bottles for them all and put water with something like Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo in it and let them go to town. They can each have a hand towel after to dry it. I would get the song “Car Wash” and play it over and over while they are cleaning. All these items can be found cheap at a Dollar Store. Have a blast….. Okay ~ that’s if the weather is okay!!!!

I would make a car cake and add next to it a new sponge and towel.

I would buy a ton of cheap face clothes (I just got 30 for under $3 at out dollar tree) and squirt bottles and decorate with them. And buckets, just put away the shovels…
