**DISNEY–Is Magic Kingdom still magical with all the construction?

Does it take away from the magic of it all?
My kids are going to Disney for the FIRST time (8 & 6).
I know they’ll enjoy it. It’s still Disney!
But I would like to make sure NOTHING takes them back to the real world.
But those walls do (to ME).

I saw some videos of something small they did: Painted CERTAIN areas of the walls with, I guess, what’s going to be behind it. <_<
But it only covers bits of the walls. Otherwise just solid paint. (It's frigging Disney, they should put art ALL over that. Not just what's behind it. Construction takes lots of time. It's worth it =( )

We want to go in November; and in 2013 when new Fantasyland is open (!!!), when some time has passed.
But, this year, will that part be a bummer?
Will it still be suuuper MAGICAL?

The Magic Kingdom has definitly not lost any of its magic. I would not worry about your kids not enjoying the same magic and excitement you enjoyed when you first went to the Magic Kingdom. I would bet money that there was construction going on at there when you first went.. Kids in the park dont really pay attention to the details like construction walls. Now that your an adult in the park your more informed and educated and see the walls for what they really are. Personally I think they enhance the magic. They block a lot of stuff but there is a lot they dont hide. I love seeing the beast castle in the distance now. Its stirs my imagination as I wait and dream of the new world that lays just beyond those green walls. A lot of the Disney Magic lies within our own imagination that is a big reason as a cast member we dont explain exact detail on the inner workings of the parks. If you new how everything worked or what exactly is going in behind those green walls it wouldnt be special. Right now we with the fantasyland we are just being tempted with castles and cottag roofs behind the walls and the occasional poster and vague pictures of things to come.

Every once in awhile I will head to the Magic Kingdom just to people watch. Its almost more fun watching the people then it is to ride the rides. I love the dads carrying the pretty pink princess backpacks and wearing thier daughters minnie ears as he waits by the restroom for the 20th time that day. Parents and teenagers are the only ones paying any attention to the walls. Usually they are staring at poster or trying to find some way to look over them. The smaller kids are in a hurry to get to the next ride and trying to figure out how they can get mom and dad to move faster.
