Do you think ROCK MUSIC will once again become popular due to the fact that most Cartoons play rock?
I was just watching t.v with my little brother the other day and i couldn’t help but notice popular cartoons are loaded with rock music. Eg Phineas and Ferb, 90 % of all disney shows ie Zack and cody etc, and a lot more cartoons on Nickelodeon and cartoon network. I think this is a good thing as most modern music is in the adult contemp area.
Also do you think these shows are encouraging kids to pick up guitars, drums and other instruments and Start Rocking On forever!!

I’m going to go over to Billboard.com and pick a random week from the past 10 years and look at the top 20 albums. I’ll write down the highest charting album that is indisputably “rock”. Let’s see what’s popular:
2010 – #4 – Ozzy Osbourne – Scream
2009 – #8 – Heaven & Hell – The Devil You Know
2008 – #6 – Kid Rock – Rock & Roll Jesus (he had definitely shed his hip-hop sound by then, so I’m counting it)
2007 – #1 – Fall Out Boy – Infinity On High (don’t like ‘em, but it’s rock)
2006 – #1 – AFI – Decemerunderground
2005 – #1 – Green Day – American Idiot
2004 – #1 – Contraband – Velvet Revolver
2003 – #7 – Evanescence – Fallen (again, don’t like ‘em, but it’s rock)
2002 – #4 – Linkin Park – Hybrid Theory
2001 – #2 & #3 – Stain – Break The Cycle & Blink 182 – Take Off Your Pants And Jacket
2000 – #1 – Santana – Supernatural
How about that? I didn’t even have to break the top 10… and I got 5 number one albums, 4 in a row even! I picked random weeks from each year. I guess you feel silly now.
I think that the popularity of Guitar Hero has had a big influence on things (especially the first 2 games). A lot of kids were getting their first taste of great bands like Mountain, Cheap Trick, Thin Lizzy, Alice Cooper, Heart, The Allman Brothers, Cream, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, etc etc. Guitars were hot and sexy again… and people realized how much the guitarists in a lot of popular bands sucked.
