Disney World is the entire complex. There are multiple hotels, parks, water parks, golf, etc. The four main theme parks are the ones you mentioned: MK, HS, Epcot, and AK. If you have a one-day ticket, then it is not park-specific and may be used to go to any of the four parks. A base ticket allows you to go one park. You can buy multi-day tickets, which you can use at any of the parks. For example, you can buy a four-day pass, and you can go to Magic Kingdom all four days, or you could go to one different park each day, or any combination thereof.
You can also buy additional options onto your ticket, such as no expiration date, park hopper, and the water parks option that lets you into even more attractions.
