Am i too old for figure skating?
I just seen disney on ice and i really woud like to be apart of it for maybe next year’s performance. The only thing is i dont skate. I just turned 17 and i know most people think that it’s too late to actually be good at skating just starting out if not graceful and poised. But do you think it’s possible if i buckle down to it that i can acheive a junior/senior level by next summer?
I’m sorry, but that is pretty much impossible.It takes YEARS to master elements. Even if you were some prodigy who managed to do the elements of those levels, There wouldn’t be enough testing sessions to test those levels. It is harder than it looks. It seems that it looks a lot easier to people who don’t ice skate so they go into it thinking that theyll be olympians in a week. It doesn’t work like that (although I sorta wish that it did…). You could start skating, but theres an age when you physically stop advancing in skating and you are almost right at that age (Early adulthood, theres no specific age…). It will take time, and you probably will not get anywhere near where you want to be when you stop advancing. Im sorry.
