Is Orlando, FL a safe place?
Me, my Husband, and 2 young daughters are planning a trip to Orlando, Florida for our first time in May. We are still thinking of what hotel to stay at. Any recommendations? We will be there for an entire week. We will be going to Disney ( Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom ) /Universal Studios & Sea World. Since this is our first time traveling to Orlando we really don’t know much about the city.. Is it safe to walk around and go sightseeing? Also, how is the weather in May? Greatly appreciate your responses!
Well, it really depends on which areas you are in for safety. Currently, Orlando is rated #3 on the LEAST safe cities in the US. If you check out Orlando’s crime ratings it’s a 10 violent crime and 10 property crime on a scale of 1-10. However, if you are in an area like Windermere, it’s a 2 – 2 which is very safe. It’s all in perspective.
Generally speaking, it’s just as safe as any other large metro area to go around sightseeing in. Just go do your family stuff during the day and you’ll be fine!
The weather in May is very nice with general highs in the high 80s and lows in the mid 60s.
