Info about Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party??? In Walt Disney World?

In October I am going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party with my sister. (MNSSHP for short,) I need to know: what’s going to be featured there, do I need to purchase my own ticket for admission to this event, or can I just go with my ticket to the park Magic Kingdom??? I am an Annual Passholder, do I get a discount??? Is it worth the price it costs??? Where would be the ideal hotel to go to when going to this event??? Thank you!! If you can’t answer ALL of these questions, that’s ok. Please post a link to a site or something if you think it can help my question. Peace!!!!!

What’s going on at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party:

-Everyone is allowed to dress up in costumes, adults & kids alike. It’s the only time adults are allowed to dress up in the Magic Kingdom. Then you trick or treat around the Magic Kingdom.
-There is a special parade called “Boo To You” that is not shown at any other time of the year. Characters in it are very rare to see, and some are only in this parade.
-There is a special fireworks display, again only shown during this party. It’s called Hallowishes, and is run by the Disney Villains. It’s very cool to see. It’s by far my favorite Disney night time show.
-Tons of Disney Villains are out for meet & greets, which is the only time of year you have the chance to meet them. Regular characters are dressed in Halloween gear.
-The whole park is given special lighting & decor to fit the Halloween vibe. It’s really amazing to see how they transform everything!

How tickets work:

-A regular ticket to the Magic Kingdom will not get you in. It’s a special ticketed event, so it requires a seperate ticket. The party starts at 4:00, so you don’t have to have a ticket to the Magic Kingdom on that day. You can just go up w/the party ticket & enter at 4:00. If you spend the day in the Magic Kingdom, you’ll need a ticket for the park until the party begins, and then another ticket for after that.
-Annual Passholders DO get discounts on Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets! You just can’t buy them online, you have to buy them in person to show proof of your pass. With tax, it’s $53.20 for an adult ticket if you have a season pass. It’s normally $63.85 a person if you are not a season pass holder.

Is it worth it?

In a word, yes. It’s a chance to see Disney from a totally different perspective. No matter how many times you’ve been there, it’s a whole new trip. The parade & fireworks display are by far the best Disney offers. They put all they have into transforming the park, and I think it’s a must-see. It will really get you into the Halloween spirit.

Hotel to stay at?

-If distance is the most important thing to you, stay at either The Contemporary, The Grand Floridian or the Polynesian. All are on the monorail, so you can be to the Magic Kingdom within minutes of leaving your room. It will save you a great deal of time, and it’s completely free. These are the highest price resorts though.
-If cost is the most important thing to you, consider staying at a Value resort like Pop Century or a Moderate Resort like Port Orleans. Those are my top 2 choices for Value & Moderate. You can stay at them for very cheap, and both will provide free transportation to The Magic Kingdom. The bus ride over may take a little while, and that’s one of the reasons these resorts are cheaper. But the savings is very significant.
