What does the Disney Magic Your Way Plus Dining Package include? What is the price?

I’m thinking of getting a Disney Magic Your Way Plus Dining Package for my vacation. However, I’m confused what it includes. I read on the Disney website that it includes accomodations? Does that mean you can choose any hotel (even the biggest one there) with no price at all? I understand you also get a base ticket with it? And a dining package? Also, what is the price for the overall package if I wanted to get it for three people? I couldn’t find any of the information on Disney’s website.

The base “magic your way” package is for a Disney hotel and tickets, plus some small perks, like discounts at the marinas. The price for that varies according to the hotel.

The dining package is an add-on. I think you’re confused because Disney’s point is you have to get the magic your way package first, you can’t just buy the dining deal by itself. Does that make sense?

There are several variations of the dining plan. One allows you two quick-service ( informal, counter service) meals and two snacks. That’s $31.99 for an adult, per day. Others allow meals at sit-down restaurants (waiter/waitress, generally costs more) and bigger perks, like unlimited golf, admission to Cirque du Soleil, etc. You can see a breakdown of the plans, with cost and restaurants on allears.net, or the official Disney website.

Basically you should decide the resort first, then the tickets and dining plan are added, so the cost varies. You can always call the Disney people and they’ll be VERY helpful, they love people like you. Your reward is getting everything for cheaper than if you paid separately, like ordering a la carte from a menu. I would do a little research first on the hotels so you have some in mind before they start suggesting some. Disney is not high-pressure, but they obviously want you to have the best (read: sometimes more expensive) experience.

I would also think about what kind of food you think you’ll be eating—do you plan on having a sit-down meal at least once a day? Do you have a couple of young kids who would squirm through those so you usually eat at counter-service restaurants? Does anyone love golf, tennis, etc? There’s no sense in paying for a plan with parts you don’t really use.

I’ve never used one of these plans, but some people rave about them. I’ll probably try it in the future. I took a quick run through the process on Disney’s website. If 2 adults and an 8 year old stay at the Port Orleans resort December 7-14, with 6 days admission to the parks, and the plus dining selection, it’s $2,740. That means a room, tickets for 6 days, and one table service meal, one counter service meal, and one snack per day for each person.

Hope that helps–Disney is a big place with a lot of options, so I understand why it’s confusing. You’ll have a great time though.
