Running tips needed.?
Hi. I am running the disney marathon in 2011 and am training. This weekend i am running 14k and am quite nervous. I ran 10k 3 weeks ago in 66mins.. i am wondering what tips u could give me for keeping myself energized and encouraged during the extra 4k.
ps. I am 15 years old and am 5’7 179lbs 
if that effects anything..
btw im only running the half marathon i thought i put that in there. 21k not 42 :p
Well the first thing you need to know is that you are not allowed to run the Disney Marathon as a 15 year old.
Assuming you’ve circumvented the age requirement somehow, and/or continuing training anyhow, every step up in distance is going to be a little scary or uncomfortable.
With the race being on January 9th, that means the it is 9 weeks away. You should be about half way through just about any training plan and your long run should be considerably higher than 14KM. Hal Higdon’s most novice plan would have you running 15 miles this weekend.
So between your age being an issue, and being relatively far behind in a training schedule, I’d say you try for the Half Marathon in 2011.
