How Do They Do Magic On Broadway?
On Mary Poppins on disney channel.com I was watching the Mary Poppins on broadway. Mary puts her empty looking bag on top of a table where you can see below it and she pulled out a long, big mirror. Also she takes out a blanket and with help puts it down, and it is suddenly a bed. Do any of you know about how they do this?
In this case, I’d assume that they had a false front under the table that was painted with “trompe d’oiel” that made it look like it was open.
Even if that’s not the case, there are plenty of standard magic tricks that make the stunt possible. Read up on magic (get books from your local library) and inquire at magic supply shops if you really need to know all the alternatives.
