How much does it cost to go to Disney World?

How much for 4 adults to go to disney world? This is our first time going. It will be my brother, his girlfriend, my boyfriend and I. We plan on going in April of 2010 (but can change the date if its cheaper another time) this is what we need…

-1 hotel room with 2 queen beds for 7 nights
(this will be split by the 4 of us)
-4 adult passes to all of the parks for 6 or 7 days
-car rental for one week..a 4 seater will do

We already have the flight price set aside, so that doesnt have to be included. How much money for EACH of us should we plan to spend on the above things? and how much should we bring to spend while there? i just need some rough figures from people who have been before…:) Also, my brother and his girl are under 21 but my bf and I are 22…. are there any 21+ attractions that the younger two cant attend, so we know to split up ahead of time?

Disney ticket prices do not fluctuate with the season. Also, be very skeptical of “discounted” Disney tickets because Disney keeps a very tight grip on them.

Disney’s highest resort rates begin Feb 12th through April 10th. So, try and arrange your vacation so you can check in on April 11th. The Value resorts will be $40 cheaper per night… if you move up to one of the more expensive (ex: Polynesian) it will be $100 cheaper then.

April 3 to April 10 = $2,348.00
Value Resort – $1424.00 (7 nights)
Tickets – $924.00 (for 4 – 6 day base tickets admitting you to one park per day)

April 17 to April 24 = $2,065.00
Value Resort – $1,141.00 (7 nights)
Tickets – $924.00 (for 4 – 6 day base tickets admitting you to one park per day)

The above prices to not include food or souveniers. Also, they are for a Value Resort (All-Star Movies, All-Star Sports, All-Star Music or Pop Century). Prices will be significantly higher if you book a Deluxe resort.

Try and budget about $70/couple for meals/day… but if you plan to do a lot of sit-down dinner meals you may want to budget more.

If you fly into MCO you can use Disney’s Magical Express which provides free transportation to and from the hotel.

If you watch for promotions you might be able to snag an even better deal like the Free Dining promotion that is currently going on. In early ’09 Disney ran a “Stay 4 get 3 Free” so you could cut your lodging cost in half if they run that again.

There are not any attractions that under 21 would not be able to go on, the attractions are based on height, not age.

FYI
Disney tickets are linked to their original owners by a biometric scan of the finger… basically a fingerprint. If someone else tries to use that ticket the gate will lock up and not let you through. Also, tickets expire 14 days from their first use unless the ‘No Expiration’ option was purchased. So, don’t trust any resale site like Ebay and be careful of any place that claims to offer cheap Disney tickets.
