What is a good thing to minor in or have as a back up career plan if I am majoring in Dance?
I am trying to figure out what to have as my backup career plan, because I want to dance for Disney. I love to dance, and I like science and animals, but get really attached to animals. So if you can help me, please do! Thank you!
A minor in education would be good if you want to teach. Even if you do end up dancing at Disney, you can’t do it forever. They aren’t going to have some 40 or 50 year old on the stage. If you minored in education you could teach dance at a school or studio, maybe even be a dance team director. Also, if you are more interested in theatre type dance, you could work in that department.
However if you aren’t interested in teaching you could go into the medical field as a physical therapist. You could still be involved with dance through other people’s injuries, but still have a good job. I personally don’t know of any way you could tie dance and animals together other than working at a theme park in a show that includes animals and dance.
