Animal-related jobs in the Walt Disney Company?
My 11-year-old daughter is wishing to be a veterinarian or obtain any job related to help animals in the future. She is a great fan of Disney, too. Are there job opportunities in the Walt Disney Company (such as the Walt Disney World Resort, etc) for a person like her?
I am asking this question here because she always says she wants to be a veterinarian and she wants to have her life plan or vision to be more motivated right now for her future junior high school, high school and college (or university).
My daughter is a U.S. citizen and we are currently living in Japan. She is wishing to study in the U.S. for college (or its equivalent) to work in the U.S.
I think it’s great that your daughter already has visions for her future! There are certainly jobs at Disney’s Animal Kingdom where she would fit in if she wanted to work with animals.
The biggest tip I can give her, is to attend Disney’s College Program. Disney pulls most of their employees from this program, and it can be difficult to get a job with Disney without it. This is especially true of a unique job like a veternarian on staff at the Animal Kingdom. These jobs are rare, so any extra help she can get, she should take. Training with the Disney College Program would already give her a name, and would put her above those who did not train with Disney.

There is a job category for Zoology, which may be something for her to consider. Animal Kingdom must have veterinarian & animal specialists on hand for all of their animals. This most likely falls into the zoology department, since the animals on property are zoo animals. I think you and your daughter will find those two sites helpful! I wish her the best of luck!
