I can’t get my game to play on XP, even though the box says the game is compatible. Help?
These games are from Disney Interactive. The box states that they are compatible, but the discs themselves do not say XP on them. When the game is brought up to play sometime the screen is mottled grey. When you sweep the mouse over it the grey goes away, but the color is not correct. These discs were purchased on clearance and cannot be returned to the store. I bought two boxes with 3 discs in each. They are all the same. The discs say they are compatible with 95/98, and the box also includes XP. These are Preschool and Kindergarten discs still being sold in stores. Does anyone have any ideas?
Sounds like a video driver issue to me- check to make sure your video card drivers are up to date. Find out what your video card is, search that name on Yahoo to find the home site and download the drivers. If that doesnt work, find the icon for the game you want to play, right click on it, select Properties, click on the Compatibility tab, select the check box next to “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” and select Windows 98. Sometimes that works. Good luck!
