is the disney dining plan worth it ?
i have been hering alot about this and the rep i spoke with on the phone was trying to convince me to get it but im not sure its worth it i do not that eating anywhere at disney is pricy but im trying to way the pros and cons no as far as ticket and room accomodations i will be benifiting by recieving a military member discount so my room and park tickets for a 4d/3n will be aroung $600 for a family of 3 2 adults and 1 toddler (2) and also we live in fort lauderdale about 3 hours away so i dont have to worry about airfare and bag fees just gas and i will be saving on parking by staying at the disney resort and using there daily transpotation system i plan on have a overall budget of $2000 for this entire trip but im just on the border about this dining plan
We have done with and without the meal plan and we will never go without the meal plan again. For us it just saves too much money. We do the one snack, one quick serve and one sit down a day which costs just under $90 a day (for two adults) but we eat $90 to $150 a day in food. Without it we would not be able to afford a nice sit down meal per day and would be stuck eating snacks and fast food junk all week. We went to the Coral Reef one night and our bill was over $90 thus an entire days plan was paid for, and then some in one meal.
Since you are getting the military discount for your room and tickets, nor will you have to worry about air I would do it.
What is nice is you can use them in any order and for any person, they just expire when you leave. For example one day you do not want a snack, then you can treat your 2 year old. Or if you are not hungry for lunch that leaves a extra meal for later, be it you, spouse or child. We usually end up with an extra snack or two when we leave and use them to get treats from Goofys Candy shop for the trip home or once we get home.
The meal plan is only for ages 3 and up so you wont be paying for your child. But again you can always give snacks or quick serves to them. At the nice expensive places I would just pay for them and use the credits for you and your husband.
It is also a great way to afford the character meals considering none of them are quick serves.
Like I said I would get it. Also remember to make reservations ASAP as well as snacks are more or less anything in any of the parks or your resort under $8… drinks, snacks, slice of pizza, ice cream, milkshake, etc. If you see something under $8 and you want it just ask if it counts as a snack at the register.
